The annual Ventura County Boat Show in Channel Islands Harbor has been positioned to attract the most interested event goers, and create and optimum sales climate by being held during the peak summer season. It occurs at a time when there are no other boat shows to compete with. And it is scheduled in the summer season when the days are bright, long and warm, which offers the perfect setting for plenty of pleased and comfortable attendees.

Focus on Sustainability and Conservation

This year the Boat Show and Green Expo will continue to focus on issues of sustainability and conservation, and strive to lessen the event’s environmental impact.  We will be expanding on last year’s efforts of using recycled materials, providing recycling on site, and hosting educational presentations centered on green topics.  Further efforts toward zero waste within the event, and additional green boating presentations will be added to the agenda.

The beautiful waterfront venue of Channel Island Harbor, serves as a natural backdrop to our Expo, where both marine and land related conservation issues merge.  This added feature attracts not only boaters, but environmentally conscious individuals as well.

In addition to traditional marine industry companies, the Show welcomes sponsors and exhibitors of eco-friendly products for both marine and everyday living!

Relevant Presentations

Continuing and expanding on our educational presentations on relevant Boating and Conservation subjects, the Ventura County Boat Show and Green Expo at Channel Islands Harbor will host a number of speakers and movies during the entire show.  All of which are included free to all show attendees.

Last year, award –winning movies, such as “Oil & Water,” and “Nature Propelled” and presentations by Surfrider “Rise Above Plastics”, The Ocean Institute “Watersheds” and family activities sponsored by the Wyland Foundation, were featured.

Marketing Efforts Expanded!

The show will continue its already substantial advertising program, including color ads in major local newspapers, magazines, and boating publications. There also will be full?color posters distributed throughout Southern California retail shops, discount coupons, and thousands of flyers distributed to bolster attendance.  Multiple options for sponsors to take advantage of a multipronged advertising campaign are available.

In addition to our traditional web site, which receives more than 80,000 page views in the three months prior to the event, we are expanding our online marketing efforts by leveraging the power of social media. Online media, such as e?mail newsletters, Twitter, Facebook, You Tube, Blogging and others will be used to promote our Sponsors, Exhibitors, and the Show.  These efforts will begin 6 months prior to the actual event, thus the earlier sponsors get onboard, the more exposure they will receive.

The existing web site also will be expanded to include more interactive tools and informative materials for boaters and environmentally conscious consumers to bolster our online audience.

Our Boat Show attracts thousands of Southern Californians annually.  The demographic consists of affluent families with a median income of more than $150,000, well educated home owners, many of whom are ready to purchase products.
